Financial Aid
Stipend The Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences provides an annual stipend for each of its Ph.D. students. Minimum stipends were $20,000 in 2006-2007. For continued stipend support, a student must: (1) maintain satisfactory progress in the program for which the stipend was awarded; (2) devote essentially full-time to study or research in the biomedical sciences; and (3) not engage in gainful employment outside the program. Tuition and stipend support derives mainly from federal (U.S.) grant funds and typically requires U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status for eligibility. Foreign students who have identified other sources of tuition and stipend support will also be considered for admission. The stipend is intended to cover living expenses and the cost of books. Tablet/Laptop Computers A new tablet/laptop computer is provided free of charge to each student upon entering the program. MSM is a wireless campus and student computers are configured for wireless access anywhere on campus.
Health Insurance PhD Students receive free personal health insurance coverage provided by the school.
Parking Parking costs for PhD Students are covered by the program.
Cost of Study Tuition waiver scholarships are provided to all U.S. citizens and permanent residents accepted into the program unless the student has extramural grant support that covers those costs. Financial Aid Office Students unable to meet their expenses with the stipend privided are eligible to apply for student loans through the school's financial aid office. |
