     Core Courses: 47 hours
     Elective Courses: 8 hours
     Dissertation Research: 25 hours

1. To be determined: Elective courses selected with assistance of mentor. Minimum of 8 hours of elective credit required to graduate.
2. To be determined: Supervised research in laboratory of mentor. Maximum of 8 hours of credit per semester. Does not apply toward any graduation requirement, only toward full-time student status (minimum of 9 credit hours per semester required overall).
3. To be determined: Dissertation research in laboratory of mentor. Maximum of 9 hours of credit per semester. Minimum of 25 hours of credit required for graduation. Student must achieve candidacy to earn Dissertation Research Credit.
4. Depending on progress made toward research goals, dissertation research often continues beyond the fourth year of matriculation in the Ph.D. program. The student's dissertation committee determines when, and whether, sufficient research has been successfully completed to merit the Ph.D. degree.

Morehouse School of Medicine reserves the right to terminate or modify program requirement content, and the sequence of program offerings from semester to semester or year to year, for educational reasons which it deems sufficient to warrant such actions.
