Most of the Morehouse School of Medicine biomedical research laboratories are housed in the Basic Medical Science Building, the Medical Education Building, the Research Wing and the Multidisciplinary Research Center, all of which are located on the Morehouse School of Medicine campus (near downtown Atlanta). Another group of laboratories is located in the Georgia Cancer Center associated with Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta. The many state-of-the-art laboratories are supported by core facilities with cutting-edge instruments and technology for Biomedical Imaging and Image Analysis, Proteomics, Genomics, Electron Microscopy, Molecular Biology, Patch Clamp, HPLC, GC/MS, Tissue Culture, Hybridoma Development, Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting, Laser-Dissection Microscopy and many other methods. MSM is also home to a state-of-the-art certified Center for Laboratory Animal Resources that serves the Atlanta University Center. Examples of the core facilities available to our students and faculty include the NIH Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI) Core Facilities and the Neuroscience Institute Core Facilities. |
