Instructions for Applicants to the Master of Science in Clinical Research (M.S.C.R.) ProgramApplying to the Program Prospective students must apply over the Internet. Entrance Requirements for (NIH, CRECD funded Applicants):- Must be U.S. citizens or have permanent resident Visa status for NIH funding.
- Senior physician trainees (senior residents or fellows).
- Clinical faculty appointment at MSM (7 years or less), with a terminal degree.
- Letter from the chair of your department.

Entrance Requirements for all Others:- Must have a terminal degree.
- Three individual letters from persons who are capable of speaking to your professional skills and goals.
- Two- to three-page research abstract or narrative.
- Fully completed online application.
- Other documentation as noted by the Admissions Office.
- A wallet-sized photograph.
Evaluation of ApplicantsThe M.S.C.R. Admissions Committee selects fellows after careful consideration of many factors. These include support from chair, research interest or experience, and overall desire for a career in clinical research. InterviewsAfter reviewing the complete application, qualified applicants are invited to Morehouse School of Medicine for a personal interview with the M.S.C.R. Admissions Committee. Decision NotificationsAfter the interview, three decision options are possible - Admit, Alternate List or Reject. All applicants will receive a decision notification by early June for admission. Applicants who are accepted are requested to respond, in writing, within two weeks of the acceptance notification. Those applicants retained on the Alternate List are considered for vacancies as accepted applicants withdraw. Communication with the Office of AdmissionsAfter submitting all your materials, if you do not receive notification that your application is complete within a reasonable amount of time, you should call the Admissions Office at (404) 752-1650 to check on the status of your application. Do not wait until the deadline to check on the status of your application. Also, after you have been notified that your application is complete, if you do not hear from us for a considerable period of time, that is simply an indication that your application is still under review and your status is unchanged. We will notify you promptly of any definitive action taken by the M.S.C.R. Admissions Committee. Confidentiality and Release of InformationTo ensure that the confidentiality of materials in your application file is protected, and to permit the most efficient processing of your application, all members of the Admissions staff have been instructed not to divulge any information regarding decisions on any application. The Office of Admissions cannot accept responsibility for any misunderstanding of the instructions or regulations, misdirected documents, or other delays. It is the applicant's responsibility to make sure that all documentation reaches the Office of Admissions by the appropriate deadline. Morehouse School of Medicine only recognizes certified mail receipts or overnight package airbills with a school mailroom personnel or Office of Admissions staff signature as proof of delivery.
