Affiliated Institutions
The Department of Surgery is affiliated with several sites for clinical services, medical student education and resident rotations. The clinical rotations for our Surgery residents occur within the following health-care delivery systems: Grady Memorial Hospital is where our residents encounter a heavy trauma patient population, as well as many unusual acute and chronic pathologic conditions. Included in their rotations are all the subspecialty services: Otolaryngology, Urology, Orthopedics, Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Neurosurgery, Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Thoracic Surgery. The outpatient experience is enhanced through the General Surgery and subspecialty clinics at Grady. | 
Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, GA | | Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite is recognized for excellence in cardiology, cancer treatments, transplant services, and many other pediatric specialties. Here our residents' pediatric surgical experience is composed of emergency care, in-patient services and outpatient services. |  Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, Atlanta, GA | | South Fulton Medical Center has offered an opportunity to incorporate a more diverse patient population and operative experience into the surgical program. As a community-based institution, it provides general and vascular surgery in a private practice setting. Our residents rotate at South Fulton during their PGY-4 year, where they encounter many acute and chronic pathologic conditions. The residents participate in supervised outpatient clinics. | 
South Fulton Medical Center, East Point, GA | | Columbus Regional Medical Center Inc. offers the region's most advanced and comprehensive 24-hour emergency department. As the region's trauma center, The Medical Center provides life-saving emergency care and response for the 13-county west Georgia area. Our PGY-4 residents work in conjunction with the Surgical Associates of Columbus to provide general surgery care to patients.
