Meet the Keynote Speaker

 

Derrick Tabor

Dr. Derrick C. Tabor is a program director at the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, NIMHD.  In 2004, at the request Dr. John Ruffin, founding Director of the NIMHD, he moved from the National Institute on General Medical Sciences, NIGMS, to join the NIMHD as the sole program director for the NIMHD Centers of Excellence Project Program. Launched two years earlier in 2002, the Excellence in Partnerships for Community Outreach, Research on Health Disparities and Training program, branded as Project EXPORT, is the largest and most diverse of the six congressionally mandated Centers of Excellence programs at the National Institutes of Health, NIH. In addition to his COE responsibilities, he is the program director for the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer Research programs, and is a project scientist on several cooperative agreement awards
