A native of Los Angeles, Calif., Dr. Maupin received his undergraduate training at San Jose State College and earned the D.D.S. degree in 1972 from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry. He completed a general dentistry residency at Provident Hospital in Baltimore, Md., and received an M.B.A. degree in 1979 from Loyola College in Baltimore. Eve J. Dr. Higginbotham received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed her fellowship training in the subspecialty of glaucoma at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston. She is a board-certified ophthalmologist. Upon her appointment in 1994 as chair of the Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Department at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Higginbotham became the first woman to head a university-based ophthalmology department in the United States. In the role of associate dean for Clinical Affairs at Morehouse School of Medicine, Sanders is responsible for assuring the alignment between clinical services and the education mission of the medical school. He earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Clemson University. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Medical School in Nashville, Tenn. Sanders completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. After residency, he served in the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Additionally, Sanders earned a Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Truddie E. Darden, M.D., F.A.A.P Medical Director, Morehouse Medical Associates Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, Morehouse School of Medicine
Dr. Darden earned her bachelor's degree in Biology/Chemistry in 1976 from Livingston University in Livingston, Ala., where she also pursued graduate studies in biology. She went on to earn a medical degree in 1981 from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. Her pediatric residency training was at the Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, from 1981 to 1984. Darden began her career with Morehouse School of Medicine and Morehouse Medical Associates (MMA) in 1989 as assistant professor of Pediatrics. Darden was appointed the interim chairperson of the Department of Pediatrics in 1993 and held that post until 1996; in 1996 she was promoted to the rank of associate professor. Darden served as MMA's director of Ambulatory Pediatrics in 1996. She assumed the position of medical director for Morehouse Medical Associates, Inc. in 1998. Michael Fite, M.D., F.A.A.F.P. Dr. Fite' is a board-certified family physician who received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Tampa in 1988. He later matriculated through Meharry Medical College, earning his M.D. degree. He then completed his residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin's St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis. Fite' has extensive experience in community medicine and clinical administration. He joined Morehouse Medical Associates in February 2007 and serves as the medical director for the newly consolidated medical home for the patients of the Department of Family Medicine.
