About Us
Established in 2001, the Center for Community Health and Service-Learning at Morehouse School of Medicine engages health professional students, faculty, academic affiliates and community volunteers in service-learning, community service and civic engagement activities. Located within the Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine, the center works in collaboration with community and faith-based organizations throughout metro Atlanta as part of the school's ongoing efforts to address the health disparities disproportionately impacting underserved populations. The center has received support from the Corporation for National and Community Service, Learn and Serve Higher Education Program for more than six years and continues to work diligently to expand its partnerships with other higher education institutions to engage students in their communities. Vision To educate students, faculty and academic affiliates in implementing evidence-based, experiential community service learning activities that are consistent with the mission of Morehouse School of Medicine -- that of reducing health disparities and providing service to underserved and minority communities. |
