Chief Residents' Spotlight
Now entering my final year in residency, I can bear witness to the extraordinary efforts Morehouse has done to structure and promote my training. Like many medical students I envisioned a program that would excel my learning and help me develop the confidence I needed to be a competent and well-rounded provider; this institution has met and exceeded every expectation. With a small and intimate setting, Morehouse has become more than an employer but my family outside of California. For those interested in pursuing post-graduating training here, I always share that residency will have challenges anywhere you go. What I like to brag about however is the fact I have a program to turn to that supports me every step of the way.
I have found training in Atlanta to be an exceptional opportunity to work with patient populations that represent all walks of life. When not working, the city offers a vibrant and eclectic array of wonderful distractions. Practicing psychiatry with Morehouse School of Medicine in this community has prepared me to serve in any setting and deliver the optimal care patients deserve. Psychiatry is a fascinating field that continues to expand in its demand. Morehouse has placed itself in a prime position to cultivate minds to become the innovators, researchers, and providers that the mental health community needs. I am genuinely honored to have the privilege to be affiliated with this outstanding institution.

I grew up in Atlanta, GA and later moved to Cleveland, OH. I graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. After college, I attended Ross University School of Medicine. When I was applying for residency, I wanted to attend a program that had strong clinical training along with a friendly atmosphere among residents and faculty. I found this rare combination at Morehouse and knew this was the program for me. The support and camaraderie that is shown amongst the residents, staff and attendings had made Morehouse a wonderful place to train for residency. It has been great being back in Atlanta and giving back to the city where I grew up in.
Outside of the hospital, I love to spend time with my husband and friends, traveling, reading, baking and trying out new restaurants. There is always something to do in Atlanta! After graduation, I plan on pursuing a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
