Child Mental Health Will be Focus of Morehouse School of Medicine Roland B. Scott, M.D. Keynote by Former U.S. Surgeon General

Atlanta, GA — Childhood mental health will be the focal point when the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Psychiatry at Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) host the 16th Annual Roland B. Scott, M.D. Lectureship. The Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 event will feature a keynote address by Poussaint-Satcher-Cosby Chair in Mental Health of MSM and 16th U.S. Surgeon General David Satcher, M.D., Ph.D. Satcher's topic will be "Addressing Mental Health in Children, a Three-Dimensional Approach — Prevention, Early Identification and Treatment — and the Role of the Primary Care Physician." The lectureship will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the auditorium of the Louis W. Sullivan National Center for Primary Care at MSM. Other highlights of the event include a naming ceremony for the Prize for Excellence in Pediatrics in honor of Otis W. Smith, M.D. The event is free and open to the public. An evening reception will follow the lectureship. CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS Morehouse School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The Morehouse School of Medicine designates this educational activity for one hour in AMA PRA Category one credit(s) ™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. |
