WHAT: Tour and taste on May 4, 2008 during the Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) Pairing Party and Open House For three hours, attendees will have an opportunity to: - Tour Atlanta's Le Grande subdivision;
- Taste healthy samples and receive healthy eating tips from TV Chef Marvin Woods;
- Enjoy spirits and wine tastings from The Grape; and
- Meet and greet.
It's part of Morehouse School of Medicine's Seventh-Annual Charity Event of MSM's National Alumni Association, which includes the annual golf and tennis tournament on May 5. Baseball great Hank Aaron, and his wife, Billye, will serve as co-chairs of the golf and tennis tournament, with the following as tournament leaders: Brian Jordan, former Atlanta Braves and Falcons player; professional basketball legend Dr. J. (Julius Erving) Brenda Schultz and Johan Kriek and Jackie Parker of Newell Rubbermaid. Celebrity tennis players signed up to play include Leslie Allen, MaliVai Washington and Johan Kriek.
The cost to attend the Pairing Party and Open House is $50. Funds benefit the Morehouse School of Medicine 2008 Founder's Fund that provides critical support for the fundamental academic administrative operation of the school, including scholarships, the library and classroom and technology enhancements. The per-participant cost for the golf tournament is $175 and $600 for a foursome. The cost to take part in the tennis tournament is $100 per person and $175 for a pair. Golf and tennis tournament proceeds will support the MSM National Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship Fund.
