Atlanta, June 11, 2009 - The Question: Name a Braves legend, Falcons great, veteran sports car driver, a hot Hollywood producer/ director/actor and a celebrity chef who all reside in Atlanta. The Answer: Hank Aaron, Brian Jordan, Bill Lester, Kenny Leon and Marvin Woods. These celebrities will swing into action during the eighth-annual Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) National Alumni Association Charity Golf Tournament. The 36-hole "Health Awareness Golf Tournament" will take place at Mirror Lake Golf Course in Villa Rica, Ga., with a shot gun start at 9 a.m. The tennis tournament and pairing party took place on May 2-3. The golf event had to be rescheduled due to inclement weather. The tournaments are designed to generate support for MSM student scholarships. In 1975, the Atlanta-based medical school was founded to serve those most in need and to increase the number of minority physicians. Currently, MSM graduates serve the health care needs of communities all over the world, as physicians, scientists and public health advocates. Aaron and his wife, Billye, serve as co-chairs of the event. Mag Mutual is the lead sponsor of the golf tournament. Proceeds from the golf and tennis tournaments support the Morehouse School of Medicine National Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship Fund. The proceeds from the pairing party support the annual Founder's Fund for need-based scholarships, the library and classroom and technology enhancements. 2009 Morehouse School of Medicine National Alumni Association Golf Tournament June 22, 2009 | 36-Hole Health Awareness Golf Tournament "Meet our MSM Docs and Win Health Tips"
