Thompson Talks to Congress About 'State of Gynecological Health in the U.S.'

On Tuesday, May 15, Winston Thompson, Ph.D., chair of the Physiology Department, visited Washington, D.C. as an expert panelist at the congressional briefing titled, “Women’s Health 201: The State of Gynecological Health in the U.S.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren and Congressman David Scott hosted the briefing to focus on gynecological disorders and the federal government’s role in supporting gynecological research and treatment. The panel of patients, advocates, physicians, and researchers provided an overview of common gynecological conditions, a description of treatments and barriers to care, and a discussion of federal policies that could improve patient outcomes.
