The Atlanta University Center (AUC) is a non-profit organization created to provide services and programs to its member institutions. Having the unique distinction of being the world’s largest consortium of African American private institutions of higher education, members include:

- Morehouse School of Medicine
- Spelman College

Each college is a separate institution with its own board of trustees, president, infrastructure, students, faculty, staff and traditions. They are distinct, founded at different times by separate groups for various reasons.
