The Morehouse School of Medicine’s Residency Programs operate under the standard academic calendar year.
Program year starts in July and culminates in June of following year.
We invite applicants to visit our department to observe Grand Rounds, Journal Club Sessions and any other open seminars/workshops.
We participate in the National Resident Match Program (NRMP). Therefore, interested applicants should submit an application online through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) the following information will be required:
- You must have a letter from Dean of the medical school where you matriculated.
- Three letters of reference are required and should be downloaded into your file in the ERAS database.
- If you are a Non-LCME graduate, you must be ECFMG certified.
- The ECFMG certificate must be certified by the time of the application.

If you are not from a LCME accredited institution and have been out of school for more than 2 years, it is essential that you have at least six months hands on U.S. clinical experience. Observerships or research experience are not considered. In addition, Morehouse School of Medicine does not offer observership and externship experiences.We do not provide information on the ratio of IMG to AMG residents.
The Internal Medicine Residency Training Selection Committee reviews applications for three (3) categorical PGY 1 positions and selects the most qualified candidates to enter into the NRMP Match.
Deadline to submit application through ERAS is December 31st of the current year.
Upon receipt of the above information, the Program Director or designee(s) will select applicants for interview.
Candidates are ranked in the NRMP.
