Research Interests
A current deficiency in understanding the induction of mucosal immunity, inflammation and cancer progression is the lack of comprehension for the role chemokines play in mediating immunity and cellular migration and invasion. Chemokines are a family of proteins that affect the chemotaxis of cells as well as angiogenesis. Our laboratory studies the mechanisms by which chemokines enhance or suppress: mucosal immunity, inflammation, and cancer cell metastasis.
