Post-graduates in our residency program participate in 5 years of training at our main facility at Grady Memorial Hospital, located in downtown Atlanta and other affiliated institutions in Fulton and DeKalb counties. Our residents gain vast experience in general surgery, trauma, critical care, surgical oncology and vascular surgery as well as opportunities in pediatric surgery.
The Surgery Clerkship course is designed to prepare students for the practice of medicine by offering a comprehensive undergraduate experience in the scientific basis of surgical practice. It includes experiences in General, Oncology, Breast and Trauma Surgeries, as well as Surgical Critical Care and requires an eight-week rotation during the third year.
The MSM Surgery Department is committed to changing the way resident education is done by exposing residents to evidence-based learning and training them on updated technology.
The Office of Graduate Medical Education is dedicated to serving the residency training programs sponsored by Morehouse School of Medicine.
The program offers rounds at Children’s Surgical Associates, Midtown Urology and Grady Hospital.
Whether its proximity to an international airport, educational opportunities, social scene or cost of living - Atlanta has it all.
