On-Call Goals Statement
There are two goals for this experience:
- The student has the opportunity to participate in the continuing care of the patient.
- The student has the opportunity to participate in the evaluation and management of patients with acute illnesses that require surgical intervention. To achieve these goals the student must integrate himself or herself into the teaching service and participate in the procedures.
In order for students to have adequate time to read and process information, students are not on call more than every fourth night and there is no on call on Thursday night.
