Dr. Weaver was a Professor and Chairman as well as the Program Director for the Department of Surgery Residency Program until February 2, 2009. He earned his B.S. Degree in Pharmacy from Howard University College of Pharmacy in Washington, District of Columbia and his MD from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Weaver completed a General Surgery Residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Dr. Weaver was the first surgeon to hold the office of President of both the Georgia Surgical Society and the Georgia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons simultaneously; he is also the first African American to be president, governor, and councilor of the above organizations. |
