    Morehouse School of Medicine’s National Alumni Association is proud to host its 2013 Regional Continuing Medical Education (CME) Conference. The purpose of this conference is to provide an overview of cancer burden, promising research to reduce the cancer burden and the impact of the “Patient Accountability and Affordable Care Act” relevant to cancer prevention and control.


    Practicing physicians, nurses, public health practitioners, residents and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of people with cancer.

    At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be able to:

    • Discuss approaches to preventing, treating and identifying patients at risk for common screenable cancers
    • Recognize signs and symptoms of various cancers and cancers unique to children and persons living with HIV/AIDS
    • Recommend appropriate cancer screening tests and procedures for their patients
    • Incorporate research findings and complimentary/alternative approaches to preventing cancer with the hope of decreasing cancer incidence, mortalities and disparities.
    • Morehouse School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
