Morehouse School of Medicine will celebrate its 29^th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel on the campus of Morehouse College from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

A reception will follow immediately on the campus of Morehouse School of Medicine for graduates and their guests in the E. Ginger Sullivan Atrium of the Louis W. Sullivan National Center for Primary Care,  from 12pm - 2pm.

A time honored tradition and highly anticipated occasion, commencement is a celebration for the MSM community, families, and friends of our graduates - who are slated to receive their M.D., Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, Master of Public Health, Master of Science in Clinical Research, Master of Science in Biomedical Research, Master of Science in Biomedical Technology, and Master of Science in Clinical Research degrees.  

Freeman A. Hrabowski, III,  President of The University of Maryland, Baltimore County, will serve as the 2013 keynote speaker. His research and publications focus on science and math education, with special emphasis on minority participation and performance. He chaired the National Academies’ committee that produced the recent report, Expanding Underrepresented Minority Participation: America’s Science and Technology Talent at the Crossroads. He also was recently named by President Obama to chair the newly created President’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for African Americans.

The 2013 honorary degree recipients are Freeman A. Hrabowski, III and The Honorable John Edward Porter, Member of Congress from 1980 to 2001 for the 10th District of Illinois.

Alumni

On Friday, May 17, 2013, The National Alumni Association will host an intimate Alumni Welcome Reception will also be held that evening where alums can reconnect with their classmates over food and good spirits. 

On Saturday, May 18, 2013, we will celebrate the classes of 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008 and honor the class of 2013 during the annual Alumni Dinner and Reunion.  During the dinner, the distinguished alumnus award will be presented to an alum who has demonstrated outstanding service to MSM and achieved distinction in the community they serve.
