Don't Be A Zombie - The Science of Sleep Deprivation
February 22 - 29, 2014
Feeling sleepy? At this event, find out what it is really like to feel sleepy. Students will participate in an interactive exploration of the effects of sleep deprivation and learn the stages of sleep. Activities will involve hands-on investigations of the neuroanatomical and cardiovascular physiological effects of the lack of sleep.
Blumenthal Annual Public Health Summit

The Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine (CHPM) established Public Health Day in 2007 in observance of National Public Health Week locally. Public Health Day at MSM is intended to educate public health students, medical students, residents, physicians, public health professionals, researchers and community members about emerging public health issues. To date, MSM CHPM has held public health summits focused on emergency preparedness, cancer, HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular health and blood disorders.
Preventing Obesity through the Life Stages is the focus of the 2014 Dr. Daniel S. Blumenthal Annual Public Health Summit, and the importance of addressing obesity as a health problem for people at all life stages, from childhood to seniority will be emphasized.

The 12th Annual Golf Tournament will be held May 4th - May 6th at Château Èlan. This annual charity event supports the MSM National Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship Fund, which supports training of physicians to address our national and global health challenges.

Morehouse School of Medicine will celebrate its 30th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel on the campus of Morehouse College from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
A reception will follow immediately on the campus of Morehouse School of Medicine for graduates and their guests in the E. Ginger Sullivan Atrium of the Louis W. Sullivan National Center for Primary Care, from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.
National Medical Association Annual Convention & Scientific Assembly

The 2014 NMA Annual Convention and Scientific Assembly offers an exciting venue to interact with the largest spectrum of African American physicians, academicians and scientists in the country as well as other allied health professionals.
The 19th Annual HeLa Women's Health Conference is designed to heighten participants awareness of personalized medicine through Genome Testing and Genomic Profiles.
Campus-wide convocation to honor first- and second-year students for their academic achievements. Our White Coat Ceremony and Master of Public Health Pinning also take place to mark the transition of our matriculates into their respective professions.
