    Morehouse School of Medicine will celebrate its 29th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel on the campus of Morehouse College from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

    A reception will follow immediately on the campus of Morehouse School of Medicine for graduates and their guests in the E. Ginger Sullivan Atrium of the Louis W. Sullivan National Center for Primary Care, from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

    National Medical Association Annual Convention & Scientific Assembly

     For 110 years, the National Medical Association (NMA) has conducted its Annual Convention & Scientific Assembly, the nation’s foremost conference devoted to medical science and African American health. The 2013 NMA Annual Convention and Scientific Assembly offers an exciting venue to interact with the largest spectrum of African American physicians, academicians and scientists in the country as well as other allied health professionals.

    The 18th Annual HeLa Women's Health Conference will take  is designed to heighten participants’ awareness of Stem Cell Development Continuum and the Bioethical considerations associated with use of embryonic stem cells.

    Below the Belt

    This conference was developed as a means to promote and raise awareness of the importance of early detection and prevention surrounding pertinent women’s health issues that occur not only in the Atlanta Community, but also worldwide. It will provide an update on several women’s health issues that are commonly seen in clinical practice including topics such as sexual and voiding dysfunction, urologic and gynecologic disorders, and many more.

    Women with Heart

    February 1 - 7, 2013

    Women With Heart is an organization of civic-minded women with a love for Morehouse School of Medicine and its unique mission. Established in 2009 by First Lady Eilene Maupin, Women With Heart supports the institution and its students by assisting in raising funds for student scholarships and academic programs and by promoting the value of the institution throughout the greater Atlanta community and the state of Georgia. The 2013 Women’s Healthy Heart Week will include Wear Red Day, Healthy Heart Breakfast for Men, the Healthy Heart Luncheon, and a Healthy Heart Health Fair.

    Blumenthal Annual Public Health Summit

    April 2 - 3, 2013

    The Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine (CHPM) established Public Health Day in 2007 in observance of National Public Health Week locally. Public Health Day at MSM is intended to educate public health students, medical students, residents, physicians, public health professionals, researchers and community members about emerging public health issues. To date, MSM CHPM has held public health summits focused on emergency preparedness, cancer, HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular health and blood disorders.

    Preventing Obesity through the Life Stages is the focus of the 2013 Dr. Daniel S. Blumenthal Annual Public Health Summit, and the importance of addressing obesity as a health problem for people at all life stages, from childhood to seniority will be emphasized.
