Morehouse School of Medicine – Smokefree
We are very pleased to announce that on 10/1/2012 Morehouse School of Medicine adopted and implemented a 100% tobacco-free campus policy. This policy prohibits use of all tobacco products on campus, indoors and outdoors. Morehouse School of Medicine has joined 19 other public and private Georgia Colleges and Universities that have also adopted a 100% tobacco-free campus policy. The addition of the Morehouse School of Medicine to this list, brings the total number of Georgia young adult students (ages 18-24) currently protected from the dangers of exposure to secondhand smoke to 119,411. Morehouse School of Medicine is eligible to receive from the Georgia Tobacco Use Prevention Program training and technical assistance for the implementation of the policy, such as conducting a post-adoption campus-wide education campaign, posting of appropriate signs, and encouraging tobacco use cessation among young adults by promoting the Georgia Tobacco Quit Line.
