About Our New Faculty Member:
Dr. Chevon Brooks received her B.S. in Biology from Norfolk State University in 2000. She received her M.D. from Howard University College of Medicine in 2004. She completed her Pediatric residency at Morehouse School of Medicine in 2008. After completion of the residency program, Dr. Brooks served one year as a chief resident in Pediatrics. Dr. Brooks has joined the Department of Pediatrics as a member of the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. She will serve on the in-patient hospital physician team. Her duties will include serving as the attending at the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta hospitals at Hughes-Spalding and Scottish Rite, as well as providing service at DeKalb Medical Center's term nursery. Dr. Brooks' interests are in general academic pediatrics, and resident and medical student education. Dr. Brooks has been active in many community service projects and presentations throughout metropolitan Atlanta and Georgia. |  | Dr. Dominic Mack, M.D., M.B.A.

About Our New Faculty Member:
Dominic Mack received his M.D., from Meharry Medical College in 1987. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Morehouse School of Medicine in 1990. Dr. Mack is a board-certified family physician. Dr. Mack earned an M.B.A. from Kennesaw State University in 2003. After completion of his residency in Family Medicine, Dr. Mack joined Southside Healthcare Inc. as a family physician and later served as chief medical officer. He returned to Morehouse School of Medicine in 200l as an assistant professor. During his tenure he served as the family and medical director, associate chair of Clinical Affairs, and interim residency directory. Dr. Mack also served as associate director for the National Center for Primary Care (NCPC) and project director for the Regional Coordinating Center for Hurricane Response. Most recently, Dr. Mack held the post of chief medical officer of AmeriCORP Holdings Inc., and medical director of the AeroClinic organization. |  | Dr. Katrina Parker, M.D.

About Our New Faculty Member:
Katrina Parker received an M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1983. Her postgraduate training included the completion of an Internal Medicine Internship in 1984 from Wayne State University, a Pediatric Internship and Residency in 1987 from Children's Hospital of Michigan, and a Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship in 1990 from the University of Pittsburgh/Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Parker is an experienced pediatrician, board certified in both General Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology. She was cited in 2001 and 2007 as one of the "Best Doctors in America." She has achieved recognition by the Provider Recognition Program for the American Diabetes Association and National Committee of Quality Assurance. Dr. Parker will serve primarily at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding. She will also be encouraged to establish her presence with the Georgia Newborn Screening Programs as a resource for follow-up for infants identified with pediatric endocrinopathies as well as build a program to address the rising epidemic of Type II diabetes associated with childhood obesity. Once established, Dr. Parker will assume responsibility for the Pediatric Endocrinology rotation for MSM's residency training program. |
