The Study Design, Biostatistics, and Data Management (SDBDM) Core of the Research Center for Clinical and Translational Research (R-CENTER) continues to expand its role as an institutional resource in support of clinical, translational, and community-based research as well as support for research which specific informs policy discussion and decision.
In its expanded role, the SDBDM Core also serves as the Research Core for competitively renewed or newly funded program grants (G12 Multidisciplinary Biomedical Research Center, Center of Excellence on Health Disparities, and Transdisciplinary Collaborative Research Center on Health Disparities). It is the designated Research Core for this NIMHD-funded Transdisciplinary Collaborative Research Center on Health Disparities.
The specific aims of the TCC Research Core are:•To support the subproject investigators in study conceptualization and design, sampling, sample size and power calculations, statistical analyses planning and methodologies, and epidemiologic principles and methods and generating evidence to support policy decisions.•To provide technical support and consultation in developing data collection tools, data collection methods, database development, and ensuring data quality.•To provide database administration support in creating databases and managing secured data.•To provide biostatistical analysis and data analytical support throughout the duration of the each project.•To provide mentored research training to junior investigators to stimulate transdisciplinary policy-related health disparities research.•To support the subproject investigators in developing independently funded research and/or demonstration projects to sustain policy research effort.
