Email: bmcgregor@msm.edu | | Dr. McGregor earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology from Morehouse College in 1998. He completed his master's and doctorate degrees in Clinical/Community Psychology from the University of South Carolina in 2008. He is a past fellow of the American Psychological Association, specializing in the treatment and prevention of substance abuse among ethnic/racial minorities. Prior to joining the Satcher Health Leadership Institute, Dr. McGregor was a supervisor for psychological services in a maximum security state correctional facility. In that position, he led an interdisciplinary treatment team which provided individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, non-mental health staff training, and continuous quality assessment. His areas of clinical interest are co-morbid substance abuse and mental illness, particularly among ex-offender and homeless populations. His current research focus is the integration of mental health care into primary care settings. Dr. McGregor is committed to developing effective leadership strategies, policies, and practices designed to advance equity and reduce and eliminate disparities in health. |
