Dr. Onyeabor received his medical degree from Nnamdi Azikiwe Medical School, Nigeria in 2000. He had his postgraduate medical training in Community Medicine at the University of Portharcourt Teaching Hospital, Rivers State, Nigeria from 2003-2005. During his training, he worked in both sexually transmitted disease and family health care clinics. Dr. Onyeabor subsequently moved to the United Kingdom where he received a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of Wolverhampton in 2007. He is a Diploma in Occupational Medicine candidate of the Royal Institute of Public Health.

In 2008, Dr. Onyeabor was one of the inaugural Sexual Health Leadership Scholars at the Center of Excellence for Sexual Health at the Satcher Health Leadership Institute at Morehouse School of Medicine. He has special interest in human sexuality, particularly in regard to health disparities in the care and treatment of those living with HIV/AIDS. In addition, he is currently evaluating the potential for care models which integrate mental health and primary care to address disparities in health.
