Dr. Volny received her bachelor of science in Biology from Pace University in NY. In 2006, she received her osteopathic medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and a Masters in Business Administration in Health Care Leadership from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. She was selected as a 2004 Paul Ambrose Health Promotion Fellow at the Association of Teachers of Preventive Medicine (now the Association for Teaching Prevention and Research). Dr. Volny served as the national Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Student National Medical Association from 2005-2006. She completed her residency in 2010 in Obstetrics and Gynecology from UMDNJ - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, during which she received the department Chairperson's Award for her research involving immigrant populations. In February 2010, Dr. Volny participated in a medical mission to Haiti as part of the earthquake relief.
Dr. Volny's interests include sexual health as well as program and policy development and implementation, particularly related to cervical cancer screening, STD prevention, and contraception in immigrant populations.
