Bethany Stevens earned a BA in Art History and a Juris Doctorate at the University of Florida (UF). She earned a MA in Sexuality Studies at San Francisco State University. Stevens is a member of the California Bar Association. She has completed research about the sexual issues of women with disabilities, the effects of media representation on sexual agency, and transability. She directed a conference about sexuality and disability at UF. Stevens has represented the United States at two international conferences on disability rights and published reports for the United Nations during the drafting of a convention concerning persons with disabilities.
