Governor Nathan Deal Proclaims September 1, 2011 "Personalized Medicine Awareness Day in Georgia"

Governor Nathan Deal has designated September 1, 2011 as "Personalized Medicine Awareness Day in Georgia."   To commemorate the occasion, the Atlanta Clinical and Translational Science Institute - a research consortium funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health made of Morehouse School of Medicine, Emory University and Georgia Institute of Technology - will host a program and panel discussion on Thursday, September 1, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., at the Morehouse School of Medicine Louis W. Sullivan National Center for Primary Care, Auditorium.

Georgia Bio is a partner of ACTSI and is participating in the program, along with Iverson Genetic Diagnostics.  Iverson has a collaboration with Morehouse School of Medicine and ACTSI in a clinical research study of a new technology that will make the practice of personalized medicine possible.  Georgia’s Healthcare institutions are leading sites for the study.
