Nana Wilson to Enter 2013 Class of the Epidemic Intelligence Service
Nana Wilson, MPH and MSCR/PhD dual degree candidate at Morehouse School of Medicine,
has been accepted into the 2013 class of the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) at
the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA.
The Epidemic Intelligence Service is a unique 2-year post-graduate training program of service and on-the-job learning
for health professionals interested in the practice of applied epidemiology. Since
1951, over 3,000 EIS officers have responded to requests for epidemiologic assistance
within the United States and throughout the world. EIS officers are on the public
health frontlines, conducting epidemiologic investigations, research, and public health
surveillance both nationally and internationally.
Nana Wilson's doctoral research on malaria is being conducted under the direction
of Dr. Jonathan Stiles in MSM’s Department of Microbiology Biochemistry & Immunology.
He is preparing to graduate in May. His new position at the CDC will begin in July,
2013.
