<research>I have conducted a nutrition research in Khartoum University, department of Human
Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Glycemic Index of Sorghum Based local Sudanese food
(Assida). The study was to determine the Glycemic index, of one of the most popular
sudanese food for the first time in Sudan. The research was funded by the department
of Human Physiology and the WHO. The research found the Glycemic index of this meal
is 1.02%, which has a had huge impact on treating weight and diabetes among other
weight related diseases in Sudan.  Volunteer researcher in studying the use of latex
agglutination test to detect urinary antigens for visceral leishmaniasis (VL).    In
204 patients with suspected VL, KAtex had a sensitivity of 95.2% with good agreement
with microscopy smears but poor agreement with 4 different serology tests.  As part
of the medical school requirement in the fifth year, I did a research in War Injuries
in 1999; the research was conducted in Omdurman Military Hospital.  It has been found
that land mines are responsible for the most devastating injuries, and the major consumer
      of rehabilitation programs funds.
