MSM on a Mission

On June 16, MSM, SHLI, and the National Center for Primary Care were able to discuss and promote integrated care and health equity as well as lead and present at the 123rd Annual Georgia State Medical Association Convention & Scientific Assembly.

The Atlanta Clinical and Translational Science Institute's Community Engagement Research Program, led by the MSM Prevention Research Center in partnership with Emory University and Georgia Tech, will serve as the community engagement lead for a nearly $1.2 million grant funded by the NIH designed to create the Center for Advancing Health and Diversity. <<MORE>>

On June 6, Adrianne Serrano Proeller, community health worker with the MSM Prevention Research Center, has been appointed by the Fulton County Board of Commissions to the Fulton County Citizens Commission on the Environment (FCCE). In her new role, Ms. Proeller hopes to bring Community Health and Prevention issues, as they relate to the Environment, to FCCE discussions.

On May 18, at the Carter Center's annual volunteer ceremony, MSM's Dr. Gilberte (Gigi) Bastien was recognized for her contribution to the Carter Center's Mental Health Liberia Initiative last year as a Satcher Health Policy Fellow. The ceremony honors individuals who have provided service to and contributed in one way or another to the Carter Center's domestic and global work.

Please give your support to the 2016 MSM Student Mission Trip to Haiti here.

In order to make the trip possible, students need to raise $35,000. The trip will take place July 17-24, 2016.

We encourage you to support their efforts with a gift through payroll deduction.

Community Health Worker (CHW) Chronic Disease Self-Management and Prevention Train-the-Trainer Program

This training is offered for community health workers and residents at different dates and locations throughout the year.
