MSM's Dr. Roger Simon Says Blood Screening Could Yield Important Information About Strokes in Interview with Fox 5 Health
Dr. Roger Simon, professor of Neuroscience and Medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM), was highlighted in a Fox 5 Health news report for his research that looks for stroke clues in blood. In a recently published study, Simon and his team took a closer look at gene expression patterns linked to stroke.
Simon and his research partner, MSM Associate Professor of Neurobiology Dr. Robert Meller, collected blood samples, including those from patients being treated at Grady Hospital’s Marcus Stroke Center, and ran the data through a computer algorithm. Some of the findings could one day be used to predict how a patient will do post-stroke, Simon hopes.
