The TCC Health Policy Research Summit, held at MSM on April 28, 2016, tackles how
to best translate science into policy impact. <<MORE>>
Dr. L. Ray Matthews, appeared on the "Dr. Richard and Cindy Becker TV Show" in Dallas, TX on May 4, 2016 discussing the multiple uses of vitamin D in trauma
patients and athletes. He also appeared on TV on the “Choices with Jeannette TV Show” out of Houston, TX on April 21 and 28, 2016 discussing vitamin D and sports concussions
and sports injuries.
Dr. Kisha Holden recently presented at the 24th Annual Congress on Women’s Health on the topic "Is Resilience a Protective Factor for African American Women with Depressive
Symptoms in a Community-Based Primary Healthcare Center?"
Dr. Ronald L. Braithwaite and the Community Health & Preventive Medicine, Family Medicine and Psychiatry departments teamed with former MSM faculty member Dr. Selina Smith to release a special issue of the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved - Public Health and Incarceration:
Social Justice Matters, Volume 27, Number 2; May 2016. Dr. Braithwaite, served as co-editor for this issue and other MSM faculty who authored
or co-authored articles in this issue included; Drs. Rhonda Holliday, Brian McGregor, Tabia Akintobi, Elleen Yancey, and C. Lamonte Powell. <<MORE>>
On April 20, 2016, the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences hosted the
Annual DeWitt C. Alfred Psychiatric Research Symposium. It was focused on "Integrated Care: Getting to Outcomes." The keynote speaker was
Dr. Parinda Khatri, chief clinical officer of Cherokee Health Systems, and the faculty speaker was Dr. Dominic Mack, director of the NCPC. Several department of psychiatry residents presented research
on diverse topics. The event was co-chaired by Dr. Kisha Holden and Dr. Brian McGregor.
Morehouse School of Medicine Town Hall this Thursday, May 5, 2016, to cover and provide Q&A sessions on vacation day policy, the new compliance hotline,
facilities updates, faculty & staff dinners, and the $35 million investment we received

Dr. David Levine worked on research team and advisory board with Georgia State's Dr. Eric Wright on
recent project discovering over 3,300 youth are homeless in the Atlanta area. <<MORE>>
MSM researcher Mahniya Sadiq part of study published in the American Journal of Roentgenology showing radiographs
of the saccrum and coccyx in the emergency department have no quantifiable clinical
impact. <<MORE>>
MSM CRC Research Coordinator Aneeq Malik worked on pilot study showing pediatric patients with recurrent C. Diff who received FMT had no further episodes.
