Morehouse School of Medicine and Carter Announce Relocation of 44th & 3rd Bookseller to Entra West End
Opening of family-owned, multi-cultural book and culture brand outlet scheduled for Fall 2020

ATLANTA – June 4, 2020— Morehouse School of Medicine and Carter announce the executed agreement for 44th & 3rd Bookseller to relocate from its previous Little Five Points site to the brand-new mixed use complex adjacent to the school’s campus. Based in the heart of the Atlanta University Center and Atlanta’s Historic West End, Entra West End will be the new home for the growing bookstore. The retail space is scheduled to open in fall 2020.

44th & 3rd Bookseller is a family-owned, multi-cultural book and culture brand headquartered in the heart of Atlanta, Ga. Its founders, Warren, Cheryl, and Allyce Lee, established the brand in 2017 with the mission to be a source of unbiased literature that is true to the rich culture of excellence experienced and expressed in the black community worldwide.

“We are excited to contribute a rich, black literary experience to Atlanta’s historic West End,” says Allyce Lee.

The Lee Family has committed to making 44th & 3rd Bookseller a world-class destination for visitors to the Atlanta University Center. In addition to featuring unique books, events hosted at Entra West End will showcase authors reading select passages and interacting with members of the local community.

“We believe that 44th & 3rd Bookseller will be an ideal, organic addition to our academically-focused community at Entra and within the heart of the AUC,” said Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, President and Dean of Morehouse School of Medicine.

The addition of 44th & 3rd Bookseller launches what promises to be first-class retail shopping for the residents of Atlanta’s Westside. The building’s entire retail component comprises three spaces. Plans for the remaining retailers are forthcoming.

“Working with the Lee family to bring this premier retailer to Entra West End has been an honor.  Their commitment and dedication to the rich history of books focused on and dedicated to the African diaspora is unparalleled,” said Kelly King, principal of K. King & Company, who is overseeing retail leasing for the project.

Once complete, Entra West End will comprise 187 units of market rate, multi-family housing, a 25,000-square-foot medical office building, a 9,000-square-foot wellness center, 2,600 square feet of retail space and a four-level parking deck on the corner of Lee Street and Westview Drive, just west of MSM.
