Morehouse School of Medicine Appoints Creshema Murray, PhD, as Chief Administrative Officer and Chief of Staff

Morehouse School of Medicine is pleased to announce that Creshema Murray, PhD, has been named Chief of Staff for the Office of the President and CEO. Dr. Murray joins the institution from the University of Houston-Downtown, where she held the roles of special assistant to the President and tenured associate professor of Corporate Communications. Dually, Dr. Murray served on several state and national educational boards, was a founding faculty fellow for the Center for Critical Race Studies and served as the Coordinator for the Communication Studies Program.

Dr. Murray completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Alabama, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Social Work. After a brief stint working in state politics, Dr. Murray returned to The University of Alabama and earned a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies. During this time, she conducted research focusing on cross-cultural friendships and women in the workplace. Dr. Murray went to earn a Doctorate in Organizational Communication and Management from The University of Alabama.

Dr. Murray is the immediate past chair of the National Communication Association Black Caucus, a member of Class XXXVI of Leadership Houston, a Millennium Leadership Institute Alum, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

Reporting to Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, Dr. Murray will lead the Office of the President and join the Executive Leadership Team.
