Morehouse School of Medicine President and CEO Valerie Montgomery Rice, MD, FACOG, spoke with Terry Shropshire of Rolling Out about Beacon of Hope, the 10-year, multimillion-dollar collaboration with Novartis that aims to eliminate health disparities for Black people and other people of color, compared to their white counterparts.
As Dr. Montgomery Rice explains, recruiting and training more diverse clinical trial participants and investigators will help to alleviate the distrust Blacks have had toward the medical community since the infamous Tuskegee experiment.
