MSM Mourns the Passing of Thomas W. Dortch, Jr.
Influential civic leader, businessman, and MSM champion dies at 72.
"I was saddened to learn of the passing of Thomas W. Dortch, Jr., who died Wednesday at the age of 72," said Morehouse School of Medicine President and CEO Valerie Montgomery Rice, MD, FACOG. "Mr. Dortch was a staunch champion of Morehouse School of Medicine as well as an influential businessman, mentor, and civic leader in Atlanta. His work in state politics, civic engagement, and public service, including as chairman of 100 Black Men of Atlanta, will forever remain key parts of his legacy. We send our deepest condolences to Mr. Dortch's family and friends, and our gratitude for his lifelong commitment to improving our world."
