Morehouse Healthcare Announces Name Change to Morehouse Medicine
ATLANTA, GA – (October 1, 2025) – Morehouse Healthcare, the clinical arm of Morehouse School of Medicine, announced today that it has officially changed its name to Morehouse Medicine, effective October 1, 2025.
The new name reflects the organization’s evolution beyond traditional healthcare delivery, highlighting its role as part of a nationally recognized academic institution that integrates patient care, education, research and innovation.
“This change is about more than a name change — it’s about telling our story in a way that reflects who we are today and where we are headed,” said J. Adrian Tyndall, MD, MPH, FACEP, Dean and Executive Vice President for Health Affairs, Morehouse School of Medicine. “Morehouse Medicine represents our commitment to compassionate care, advancing health equity and shaping the future of medicine.”
For more than 40 years, Morehouse Healthcare has been a trusted provider for patients throughout the Atlanta area. As Morehouse Medicine, the organization will continue to deliver the same high-quality, patient-centered care while strengthening its identity as a leader in academic medicine.
“Our foremost priority has always been the health and well-being of our patients,” added Errol Crook, MD, Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer, Morehouse School of Medicine. “Our patients can be assured that, despite our name change, we remain dedicated to providing healthcare access and supporting their overall wellness.”
Patients will continue to see the same providers, at the same locations and with the same commitment to excellence. The transition to Morehouse Medicine will not affect patient appointments, insurance or access to services.
