Morehouse School of Medicine President and Dean Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice has been selected by Georgia Trend, the magazine of Georgia business, politics and economic development, as one of its Top 100 Most Influential Georgians of 2017 and will be featured in the January 2017 issue.

The magazine states its list is a representation of the strength of leadership in Georgia. It cites Dr. Montgomery Rice's dedication to advancing health equity, in addition to her historical status as the first woman to lead a freestanding medical school and her recent 2017 Horatio Alger Award, as why she has made its Top 100 for a second consecutive year.
