Women With Heart
Women With Heart (WWH) is a volunteer organization established in 2009 in response to the on-going crisis in heart health. Heart disease is the number one killer of American men and women, and African American women are more likely to die from heart disease than women of any other race. WWH is dedicated to raising scholarship funds for the Eilene Maupin Scholarship Fund, which supports emerging health care professionals. WWH events also promote healthy lifestyles and increase community awareness of heart health and cardiovascular disease through complimentary health screenings for senior citizens, offered on the Morehouse School of Medicine campus.
Over the past eight years, WWH participants have provided scholarships for over 100 students. The recipients of these scholarships have demonstrated a commitment to heart health and a deep concern for providing healthcare for traditionally underserved patients in communities across the nation.
