TCC Health Policy Research Summit 2016

"Translating Science into Policy Impact"


Policy change is essential to achieving health equity and eliminating health disparities. The inaugural TCC Health Policy Research Summit was held Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. The Morehouse School of Medicine TCC supports partnerships between communities, research institutions, and health organizations to conduct research and translate knowledge aimed at informing health policy and advancing health equity in the Southeast US. The purpose of the Summit was to convene and galvanize the TCC consortium and other transdisciplinary partners to share important work, brainstorm new strategies, and engage in critical health equity discourse.

TCC SHARK TANK COMPETITION:

Morehouse School of Medicine TCC piloted “Shark Tank” as an innovative approach to identify qualified, highly motivated community based partners, health organizations, and academic researchers for collaborative research opportunities in our TCC Pilot Project Program. Four (4) candidates participated in the TCC Shark Tank on Thursday, April 28, 2016.

TCC sought abstracts for innovative projects and approaches to be presented during our Lunch Poster session and reception poster gallery.
