At the COEDH, we are committed to expanding the technology workforce through comprehensive educational programs. Our pipeline programs are designed to inspire and train the next generation of leaders in digital health from an early educational stage. Additionally, our internship programs offer hands-on experience in cutting-edge digital health projects, providing invaluable professional growth and career development opportunities. These initiatives aim to equip students and young professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the digital health field.

Internship

The 2025 Center of Excellence for Digital Health (COEDH) Internship at Morehouse Healthcare is a must for students passionate about leveraging technology to improve health outcomes and enhancing their resumes for a future in healthcare. Funded by Microsoft, COEDH is dedicated to advancing digital health technologies with a special focus on their impact on vulnerable populations.

Headquartered at Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) and in partnership with Morehouse Healthcare, this paid summer internship blends clinical care and technology, offering interns opportunities to shadow healthcare providers, gain insights into digital health applications, and observe how clinicians use technology to enhance patient care.  Interns will engage in Remote Patient Monitoring, actively using cloud-based innovations to support individuals managing diabetes and hypertension. Additionally, they will collaborate on research and publications, exploring emerging healthcare technologies, particularly for underserved communities.

The program also includes providing administrative support for the newly established Center of Excellence on Digital Health Equity, contributing to public-facing initiatives such as co-producing podcasts. More than just a learning experience, this full-time internship places students at the forefront of digital health innovation, offering a unique chance to make a meaningful impact at MSM.

Policy and Governance

Understanding and influencing policy is crucial in shaping the impact of emerging technologies on healthcare. The COEDH focuses on examining how digital health policies can promote justice and access for all. Our efforts are geared towards advocating for policies that ensure the ethical use of AI and other technologies, protecting the rights and privacy of individuals, especially within marginalized communities. By guiding policy and governance, we aim to set standards that uphold fairness and inclusivity in technological advancements.

Advisory Board Development

The Center of Excellence for Digital Health Advisory Board is integral to our mission. Composed of leaders and experts from diverse fields, including healthcare, technology, and community advocacy, the advisory board provides strategic guidance and support for the center's initiatives. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that our projects and research are comprehensive and address the various facets of digital health.

Emerging Technologies & Events

Looking ahead, the COEDH is excited to host the Emerging Technologies Symposium in 2025. This event will bring together experts, practitioners, policymakers, and students to discuss the latest advancements and explore the future of digital health technologies.
