Morehouse School of Medicine Brings Together Students, Employers, and Alumni at Careers in Biomedical Sciences Event

National and Global Organizations Recruit MSM Students for Jobs and Internships During Virtual Career Fair.

ATLANTA – MARCH 30, 2022 – The Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) Office of Career Connections held its second annual Careers in Biomedical Sciences Day and Virtual Career Fair on Friday, March 4, 2022.

"As Morehouse School of Medicine expands our outreach and increases our enrollment, I am very excited about the continued growth of strategic partnerships that result in employment opportunities for our students," said MSM Associate Director of Graduate Education and Career Services DeQuan M. Smith, EdD, MS, CHE. "MSM students are among the best and the brightest in the health and scientific workforce. I look forward to building more partnerships with employers who look to partner with us in our pursuit to health equity."

In addition to its world-renowned Doctor of Medicine program, Morehouse School of Medicine offers a wide range of health sciences doctorate and master's degrees in public health, biomedical sciences, and physician assistant studies. Many programs are available online or in a hybrid format for distance learners.

At the career event, participating students had the opportunity to meet in a virtual setting with more than a dozen national and global companies that are currently hiring for jobs and internships, including the National Institutes of Health, GlaxoSmithKline, Biogen, Novartis, Eli Lilly and Company, and others. Recruiters were able to screen and interview applicants from each of MSM's degree programs.

The career fair also included a panel discussion with MSM alumni who are making significant contributions to the institution's vision of leading the creation and advancement of health equity worldwide. Current MSM students were able to hear firsthand how the institution assisted alumni with career readiness, continuing education, and development of strategic solutions to global problems.

In the near future, the Office of Career Connections will host a series of "Career Days with MSM", during which potential employers will speak with the campus community in hourlong virtual sessions. These events will allow MSM students to align their education goals with their career aspirations and enable them to have optimal employment opportunities after graduation.
