Research Interests

My research interests include better understanding the innate immune response and the role it plays during pulmonary and cardiovascular diseases such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic, and hypertension. My focus specifically involves the mechanisms of action of the IL-1 cytokine family and the production of IL-22 via Prostaglandin E2 during these diseases. Additionally, away from the bench, I am interested in understanding and improving the STEM-Medicine pathway in order to increase the number of underrepresented individuals with terminal degrees and ultimately diversifying the workforce.
