Atlanta Business Chronicle Names Morehouse School of Medicine Leaders to Its 100 Most Influential Atlantans List

The Atlanta Business Chronicle’s annual special section profiling Atlanta’s 100 most influential people recently featured three representatives from Morehouse School of Medicine: President Dr. John Maupin; Director of the Satcher Health Leadership Institute, Dr. David Satcher; and President Emeritus Dr. Louis Sullivan.

While the list contains leaders in higher education and healthcare, Morehouse School of Medicine is the only medical institution represented. The Chronicle’s editors select the most influential trailblazers in business, education and government based in Atlanta.

Some key aspects of Morehouse School of Medicine highlighted throughout the roundup included having the highest percentage of graduates entering primary care and core specialty residency programs in Georgia. It also noted Dr. Satcher’s focus on eliminating disparities in healthcare and Dr. Sullivan’s work towards creating a more diverse U.S. health-care workforce.

This recognition showcased Morehouse School of Medicine’s role as a leading community-based medical school and its commitment to recruiting and training the next generation of healthcare leaders that will serve the nation’s under served communities.
