ATLANTA, October 23, 2009 - Morehouse Medical Associates (MMA) is a registered site to administer the H1N1 vaccine.

Based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, priority groups recommended to receive the 2009 H1N1 vaccination are: pregnant women, people who live with or care for infants younger than six months of age, health care and emergency medical personnel, anyone from six months to 24 years of age and anyone from 25 to 64 years of age with certain chronic medical conditions or a weakened immune system.

As more vaccine becomes available, the CDC recommends that healthy persons age 25 to 64 years and adults 65 years and older should be vaccinated.

The vaccine is free; however, MMA will charge an immunization administration fee of $21. This charge will either be billed to your insurance or due at the time of your visit.

Pregnant women and adults with chronic conditions will be required to have a doctor's order to receive the vaccine (or be vaccinated) if you are not an MMA patient.

You can call and make an appointment to receive the vaccine at either MMA location.
