Curriculum Training Sites

The Morehouse School of Medicine and DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office Forensic Pathology Fellowship offers comprehensive, hands-on training in forensic pathology through a robust and immersive curriculum, including:

  • Active participation in death scene investigations throughout the year
  • Over 40 onsite didactic lectures led by experienced faculty and guest experts
  • A one-week rotation at the University of Tennessee Anthropological Research Facility ("The Body Farm")
  • A one-week rotation at National Medical Services (NMS) Laboratories, focusing on forensic toxicology
  • Multi-week rotations at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, covering toxicology, firearms,
    serology, and trace evidence
  • Funded attendance at the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME) Annual Meeting
  • Funded attendance at the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) Annual Conference
  • Exposure to a diverse and high-volume caseload encompassing both urban and rural jurisdictions
