50th Anniversary of the U.S. Public Health Service Scientific and Training Symposium

Every day, tens of thousands of public health professionals across the country work to protect the health and well-being of Americans. These individuals work for a diverse group of federal, tribal, state and local public health organizations. They are on the frontlines in the battle against bioterrorism, infectious diseases, malnutrition and a variety of other public health challenges.

The Public Health Service Commissioned Officers Foundation for the Advancement of Public Health was created to provide support for these public health professionals nationwide by providing an array of programs and services, including education and research efforts and an annual symposium.

The foundation is an affiliate of the Commissioned Officers Association of the  U.S. Public Health Service. The Morehouse School of Medicine's Master of Public Health Program is an academic partner of the U.S. Public Health Service.
